Must see routines from the 2013 WAG World Championships- Qualification

Although Day 1 of WAG Qualifications didn't bring that many exciting routines, there were a few athletes who stood out to me.

Yao Jinnan Bars: 15.433
As always, the Chinese have looked fabulous on bars here in Antwerp. Yao Jinnan has been getting a lot of attention lately for her daring and very dangerous "Mo Salto" release move. Although she didn't compete it during qualifications, she's been training it well all week and might add it to her repertoire for event finals. Even without the "Mo Salto", Yao has a whopping 6.7 start value. (The Mo Salto would increase that score to 7.0!)  Jinnan does an excellent job of hitting all her handstands and she has a lot of really great transitions from high to low bar. Be on the look out for this routine in the event finals this weekend!

Mai Murakami Floor: 14.466
Always a fan favorite, Japan's Mai Murakami showed a lot of power and control in her floor routine from Day 1 of qualifications. She earned at 14.466 which was the highest floor score of the night. After Day 2, she finished  5th on floor qualifying her for the event finals on Sunday. My favorite thing about this routine is the stuck double double and HUGE smile after the completion of her routine. So adorable!

Elisabeth Seitz Bars: 14.266
Even though this routine didn't make event finals, we still have to appreciate how unique this routine is. Seitz throws skills that hardly any other women do and it's so much fun to watch! Even though she has a lot of form issues, I still enjoyed her routine!

Kyla Ross Bars: 15.133
As expected, Kyla Ross dominated the first day of qualifications with an AA total of 59.198. She hit 4 for 4 near flawless routines and qualified herself not only to the AA finals, but also to the bars, beam, and floor  finals! Kyla's highest score of the day came on bars, do you think this routine has enough to medal in Saturdays event finals?

Day 2 of qualifications brought a lot of excitement to fans all over the world. Top talents such as Simone Biles, Mckayla Maroney, & Larissa Iordache impressed everyone with their world class routines. Here are some of the highlights from Day 2!

Simone Biles Floor: 15.003
Easily the best floor worker in the world right now, Simone Biles wowed fans all over the world with her outrageous tumbling. Simone finished the day with an AA total of 60.133 putting her in first place. Simone is the first american women since Shannon Miller in 1991 to qualify to all 4 event finals. Congratulations to Simone for pulling out 4 fantastic routines today...especially this jaw dropping floor routine!

Shang Chunsong Beam: 14.866
I was very impressed with the adorable Shang Chunsong on beam today! This routine received the second highest beam score, and helped Chunsong earn a top 6 finish in the AA.  She performs this routine with ease and I really hope she can hit again in finals. Do you think Shang has what it takes to become the new world champion on beam?

Larissa Iordache Beam: 15.266
Larissa brought in the highest beam score from qualifications and also did very well in the all around placing 4th! Iordache looked so confident and relaxed up on the beam, she even smiled right before the dismount! I think Iordache is the best bet for the beam world title if she preforms like this on Sunday!

Ruby Harrold Bars: 14.600
This routine is truly outstanding! I'm so glad Ruby made it into the bar finals this weekend because I think she is one of the best bar workers currently. My favorite thing about this routine (aside from her leotard!) is the unique transitions she uses! Such a breath of fresh air.

Best of luck to all the gymnasts as they compete in the AA and event finals this week!
